Delaware Sports Blitz will be showcasing student-athletes performances from this past season each week.
Each week we will look at different colleges from the state of Delaware and showcase their athlete’s performance in the chosen sport of the week.
This week is all about Goldey Beacom’s women’s basketball team which will start with senior guard Amanda McGrogan.
McGrogan averaged 16.1 points per game, 4.3 rebounds per game,4.3 assists per game, and 1.9 steals per game in 31.6 minutes per game in 23 games. The Lightning guard led the team in points per game, assists per game, and steals per game in the 2019-2020 season.
The Mount Laurel, New Jersey native was among the best in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference in points per game, as McGrogan placed in the sixth spot with 16.1 points per game. The senior guard also placed in the top three ( ranked third) in assists per game in the conference with 4.3. McGrogan was also in the top ten ( ranked 10th) in steals per game in the CACC with 1.9.
Goldey-Beacom Picks Up First Win Vs Wilmington
The Lightning would get their first win of the season as the year of 2019 was ending, as the team defeated Wilmington 70-69 on December 21st.
McGrogan had 25 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and one steal in Goldey’s first win.
Lightning Snap Five Game Losing Streak With Win Vs Nyack
Before the game against Nyack, Goldey-Beacom was riding a five-game losing streak but the team would snap it with a dominating 84-55 win over the Warriors.
McGrogan had 19 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals in the win.
Back to Back Wins For Goldey With 66-58 Win Over Georgian Court
The Lightning would win their second straight game in a row when the team defeated Georgian Court 66-58 on January 21st.
McGrogan would have 23 points, six rebounds, and eight assists in the game.
Lightning Continue To Roll As The Team Wins Third Straight Game
The winning momentum just kept rolling along for Goldey-Beacom as the team would win their third straight game on January 25th. The Lightning would beat Felician 75-59.
The Mount Laurel, New Jersey native had 24 points, one rebound, and nine assists in the win.
Four Straight Wins For Goldey-Beacom
The Lightning would continue to strike gold as the team won their fourth straight game as they defeated Bloomfield 68-48 on February 1st.
McGrogan had 11 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals in the win.
Goldey Defeats Concordia (N.Y.) 67-54
Goldey-Beacom would bounce back from a tough loss to USciences with a 67-54 win over Concordia (N.Y.) on February 8th.
McGrogan had 18 points, four rebounds, three assists, and one steal in the game.
Goldey-Beacom Earns A 62-60 Win Over Holy Family
The Lightning would earn their second straight win by defeating Holy Family 62-60 on February 12th.
McGrogan would have 21 points, six rebounds, five assists, and five steals in the win.
Lightning Picks Up Final Home Win Vs Dominican (N.Y.)
Goldey would win their final home game of the season with an 81-62 win over Dominican (N.Y.) on February 15th.
McGrogan had 24 points, two rebounds, four assists, and three steals in the game.
Goldey-Beacom Earns Final Win Of The Season Vs Wilmington
The Lightning’s final game of the season would end in a win as the team defeated Wilmington 73-70.
The senior guard scored a season-high 32 points in the final win.
