Season Stats: Goldey-Beacom’s Alexis Harrison

Delaware Sports Blitz will be showcasing student-athletes performances from this past season each week.

Each week we will look at different colleges from the state of Delaware and showcase their athlete’s performance in the chosen sport of the week.

This week is all about Goldey Beacom’s women’s basketball team which will continue with sophomore forward Alexis Harrison.

Harrison averaged 11.6 points per game, 6.8 rebounds per game and 1.1 blocks per game in 19 minutes per game in 27 games this season. The Lightning forward led the team in rebounds per game and blocks per game in the 2019-2020 season. The Goldey-Beacom sophomore also recorded six double-doubles in the 2019-2020 season.

The Millville, New Jersey native was among the best in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference in points per game, as Harrison placed in the 20th spot with 11.6 points per game. The Goldey-Beacom sophomore also placed in the top 12 ( ranked 12th) in rebounds per game in the conference with 6.8. Harrison was also in the top ten ( ranked 6th) in blocks per game in the CACC with 1.1.

Goldey-Beacom Picks Up First Win Vs Wilmington

On December 21st, the Lightning earned their first win of the season by defeating in-state rival Wilmington 70-69.

Harrison had seven points, eight rebounds, one assist, and one steal in Goldey’s first win.

Lightning Snap Five Game Losing Streak With Win Vs Nyack

Goldey-Beacom had fallen into a bit of a rough patch after their first win of the season as the team would go on to lose five straight games. The Lightning would overcome the losing streak and defeat Nyack handly with an 84-55 score on January 18th.

Harrison had a double-double in the win over Nyack with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Back to Back Wins For Goldey With 66-58 Win Over Georgian Court

The Lightning started to find their way as the team would continue to win, as they beat Georgian Court 66-58 on January 21st.

Harrison had her second straight double-double in this game with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

Lightning Continue To Roll As The Team Wins Third Straight Game

On January 25th, Goldey would win their third straight game as the team defeated Felician 75-59.

The Millville, New Jersey native had her third straight double-double in this win with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Four Straight Wins For Goldey-Beacom

No one could stop the Lightning as the team would pick up a 68-48 win over Bloomfield to extend their winning streak to four.

Harrison had her four straight double-doubles in the win with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Goldey Defeats Concordia (N.Y.) 67-54

After a tough road loss to the USciences, Goldey-Beacom would come home to pick up a 67-54 win against Concordia (N.Y.).

Harrison recorded her fifth double-double of the season in the win, as she had 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Goldey-Beacom Earns A 62-60 Win Over Holy Family

The Lightning would earn a second straight victory when the team beat Holy Family 62-60 on February 12th.

Harrison had 13 points, four rebounds, and one steal in the win.

Lightning Picks Up Final Home Win Vs Dominican (N.Y.)

Goldey would pick up their last home win of the season against Dominican (N.Y.) with a score of 81-62.

The sophomore forward would have 12 points and seven rebounds in the game.

Goldey Falls To Chestnut Hill 64-54

Goldey-Beacom would fall to Chesnut Hill at home with a score of 64-54.

Harrison scored a season-high 21 points in the loss.

Goldey-Beacom Earns Final Win Of The Season Vs Wilmington

The Lightning would earn their last win of the season on the road over Wilmington with a 73-70 score.

Harrison recorded her sixth double-double of the season in the win with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
