Garrett Lawson who recently was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels, continues to add awards from his junior season at Delaware State University. It was announced on Wednesday, that the DSU alum was named to the 2019 East – American Baseball Coaches Association Rawlings NCAA Division I All-Region Second Team.
Lawson was bringing the heat in his junior year as he had a 7-4 record, 1.89 ERA, three complete games, two shutouts, 81.0 innings pitched, 61 hits, 32 runs, 17 earned runs,32 walks and 100 strikeouts in 13 appearances.
The DSU pitcher led all the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference pitchers with a 1.85 ERA in the 2019 regular season.
Lawson is the first Delaware State player to earn all-region honors since infielder Scott Davis earned in 2013.
The Dover, Delaware native was also named 2019 All-MEAC Baseball first team and MEAC Pitcher Of The Year earlier this off season for his junior season.
