NaJai Pollard dominated the college basketball level while at Delaware State University for four years which brings no surprise that talented basketball player signed a pro contract to play for the Switzerland Women’s Professional Basketball League’s Hélios VS Basket, according to the Delaware State press release.
Pollard ended her distinguished career at DSU with 1,988 points, 1,033 rebounds, 50 double-doubles, 254 blocks, 17.8 points per game,9.2 rebounds per game and 49.7% field goal percentage in 112 games.
The Delaware State alum holds several records in the program including most points in a career ( 1,988) and blocks (254).
In her senior season as a Hornet, Pollard had 22.9 points per game, 10.3 rebounds per game and 1.1 steals in 28 games.
The DSU forward’s 22.9 points per game had Pollard ranked seventh among the best players in Division I. Pollard also was the leader for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in scoring and was second in the conference with rebounds with 10.3 per game.
The Richmond native earned numerous awards from her four years at DSU which includes 2018-19 MEAC Player-of-the-Year award,a two-time HBCU All-America selection, MEAC Rookie-of-the-Year, BOXTOROW First Team All-American (16-17, & 17-18), Maggie Dixon All-Tournament Team (18) and MEAC All-Rookie Team.
According to DSU, Pollard’s first action with the Hélios is scheduled for September.
