The Wilmington University baseball team continues their hot streak as the team has now won four straight games. Wilmington swept the Nyack College Warriors in 3-0 and 5-0 wins on Wednesday at Wilson Field.

Game 1 (3-0 Win Vs Nyack)
As runs batted in ( RBIs) goes, there were two Wilmington hitters who hit RBIs and they were senior catcher Frank Nigro (1) and redshirt junior left fielder Eddie Nevins (1).
Three WilmU players had runs in the win and they were senior Dakota Graham (1), redshirt freshman first baseman Brock Nowell (1) and redshirt junior center fielder Julian Kurych (1).
Seven Wilmington hitters gained a hit in the win and they were Graham (1),Nevins (3), redshirt junior DH Brooks Ryan (1), redshirt senior second baseman Max Carney (1), Kurych (1), Nigro (1) and redshirt sophmore third baseman Brett Nowell (1).
On the pitching side, starter redshirt senior Sean Deely was flat out dealing on Wednesday as he went seven innings, four hits,three walks, 10 strike outs and earned the win ( 6-2 on the season).
In 117 pitches, Deely threw 75 strikes in the win against Nyack.
Redshirt senior pitcher Zach Frederick would come in for Deely in the eighth which he went one inning and two strikeouts.
In 10 pitches, Frederick threw eight strikes in the game.
Wilmington’s redshirt junior Dan Hyatt would close out the game for the pitching staff which he went one inning, one hit, two strikeouts and earned the save ( first of the season).
In 14 pitches, Hyatt threw 11 strikes in the win.
Wildcats Score A Combined Three Runs In the Sixth & Seventh Innings
The pitching come to play in this game as for five innings, neither lineup could get a single run on the board but that would change in the sixth inning.
In the sixth inning, Wilmington would be the first ones to get on the scoreboard as the team would be aided by the Warrior’s mistakes.
Leading up to the first score, Wilmington’s Brock Nowell was walked and Dakota Graham who was on base from a earlier single would advance to third thanks to a error by Nyack’s pitcher.
The next batter up was Eddie Nevins who hit a single to center field but he would advance to second base on a error from Nyack’s second baseman. The error would give Graham and Nowell an opportunity to score which gave Wildcats a 2-0 lead.
The lone run in the seventh inning for Wilmington came from Frank Nigro who hit a double to left center field which scored Julian Kurych to extend their team’s lead to 3-0.
After the seventh inning, starter Sean Deely’s dominant day was done as he went seven innings, four hits,three walks, 10 strike outs and earned the win.
Redshirt senior pitcher Zach Frederick would come in for Deely in the eighth which he went one inning and two strikeouts.
Wilmington’s redshirt junior Dan Hyatt would close out the game for the pitching staff which he went one inning, one hit, two strikeouts and earned the save.
Hyatt ended the game with a strikeout which sealed the Wildcats 3-0 win.

Game Two ( 5-0 Win Vs Nyack)
As runs batted in ( RBIs) goes, there were four Wilmington hitters who hit RBIs and they were Dakota Graham (1), Eddie Nevins (1), Julian Kurych (1) and Brett Nowell (2).
Four WilmU players had runs in the win and they were Nevins (2),Max Carney (1), Kurych (1) and Dan Hyatt (1).
Eight Wilmington hitters gained a hit in the win and they were Graham (1), redshirt sophomore DH Quintin Ivy (1), senior left fielder Luke Johnson (1),Nevins (2), Carney (2), Kurych (1) , Hyatt (1) and Nowell (1).
Eddie Nevins (1) and Julian Kurych (1) each hit a home run in the 5-0 win over Nyack.
Max Carney recorded two stolen bases in the win against Nyack.
On the pitching side, Wilmington’s starter for Game two was redshirt freshman pitcher Kyle Maxwell who dominated the Warriors hitters as he went seven innings, two hits, three walks, eight strikeouts, complete game shutout and earned the win ( first of the season).
In 92 pitches, Maxwell threw 58 strikes against the Nyack hitters.
Wildcats Strike First In the Second Inning
It was Wilmington who would put the first runs on the scoreboard as the team knocked in two runs in the bottom of the second inning.
The two runs came from Brett Nowell who would hit a single to right which allowed Max Carney and Eddie Nevins to score to give the Wildcats a 2-0 lead.
Home Run In The Fourth Helps Wildcats Add To Their Lead
The first batter in the bottom of the fourth was Eddie Nevins who with one swing added a run for the Wildcats to extend their lead to 3-0. Nevins hit a solo home run to left center field.
Wildcats Add Two Runs In Sixth Inning To Seal Win
The second batter of the bottom of the sixth inning was Julian Kurych who hit a solo home run to center field to expand the Wildcats lead to 4-0.
Then about four batters later, Dakota Graham would hit a single to left field which allowed Dan Hyatt to score to extend Wilmington’s lead to 5-0.
Wilmington’s starter Kyle Maxwell would continue his domination in the seventh as he struck out the side to seal his team’s 5-0 win.
Maxwell went seven innings, two hits, three walks, eight strikeouts, complete game shutout and earned the win.
