The Wilmington University men’s soccer team opened the 2026 season on Thursday with a 2-0 win over the Adelphi University Panthers.
Game Recap:
Wilmington University takes home a 2-0 win!
The first goal of the season for the Wildcats came when junior defender Mylan Le Baut stopped a counterattacker and played the ball into a corner. His teammate, senior defender Sam Harrison, ran to the ball, kept it in play, and made a play for the goal. The Panthers did all they could to stop the ball from going in as one of them tried to clear the cross away, but the ball went in the back of the net, and WilmU went up 1-0.
Wilmington’s defense was stellar in the first half, as they allowed Adelphi only two shots during that time, and the first came in the 44th minute.
In the second half, the Cats added another goal in the 59th minute, when a senior midfielder, Samuel Macy, scored to seal a 2-0 win. Senior defender Louison Beaumont and freshman forward Tyrell Moore assisted on Macy’s goal.
