Blue Hens Guard Kevin Anderson Out For The Season After Knee Surgery

On Thursday it was announced that one of University of Delaware’s emerging stars will miss the remainder of the season and that Blue Hen is freshman guard Kevin Anderson.

The injury occurred on December 25th during practice and Anderson had knee surgery for the injury on Thursday.

Anderson was averaging  13.7 points, 4.9 rebounds per game, 1.2 steals and had 32 assists in 11 games this season.

The Williamsport, Pa. native scored in double digits in eight games this season, including where he had two season highs for points (23) and assists (7) against Notre Dame.

Anderson earned CAA Rookie of the Week twice this season in December (  12/18/17 & 12/126/17) .

Here is what Head Coach Martin Ingelsby said of losing Anderson for the season:

“We are extremely disappointed for Kevin,” Blue Hen head coach Martin Ingelsby said. “He was having a very productive season for us, and was playing like one of the best guards in the CAA. We look forward to having Kevin back for the start of our offseason workouts in the spring.”
