The Goldey-Beacom College baseball team took home a 7-5 victory over the Jefferson University Rams on Wednesday to move their record to 25-13 on the season.

Goldey-Beacom would strike first in this game by junior third baseman Kyle Walker pushing in a run when he grounded out the shortstop to give his team a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
The Lightning would cushion their advantage in the second inning when the team scored five runs on five hits and two errors to take the score to 6-0.
Junior infielder Dante DiSabatino, sophomore outfielder Christian Petrillo, and senior catcher Johnny Kampes would all knock one run in the inning.
Walker would push two runs in for the Lightning in the top of the second inning with a single that went up the middle of the field.
Jefferson’s bats would start to wake up in the third inning as the team scored two runs on three hits to cut the score to 6-2.
In the fifth inning, the Rams would continue to claw closer to the lead, with Marquise Wood hitting a solo home run to take the score to 6-3.
After four scoreless innings, Goldey would get another run home when Christian Petrillo scored on a passed ball in the seventh inning to give his team a 7-3 edge.
Jefferson would go on to score two more runs in the game, but the Lightning would hold on to win 7-5.
Pitching recap:
Senior pitcher Anthony DiMartino pitched five innings, gave up six hits, three runs, three earned runs, four walks, struck out five batters, and earned the win.
Junior pitcher Dylan Bittle pitched two innings, gave up one hit, one walk, and struck out one batter.
Sophomore pitcher Alex Hinton closed out the game, as he went two innings, gave up two hits, two runs, one earned run, and struck three batters out.
