The Goldey-Beacom College softball team earned a pair of wins on Wednesday to push their record to 26-18 on the season. The Lightning beat the Chestnut Hill College Griffins 4-0 in the first game and 7-3 in the second.

Game Leaders:
RBIs: Alex Lowry, Morgan Scott, Autumn Simpson, and Nicole Makin would lead the team in RBIs, with one in the win.
Runs: Alex Lowry led the team in runs, with two in the game.
Hits: Scott would lead the team in hits with three in the win.
Stolen Bases: Chasedy Johnson and Scott would lead the team in stolen bases in the game with one.
Home Runs: Lowry hit one home run in the win.
Game One Recap:
Goldey-Beacom would get the scoring started in this one as the second batter in the lineup, sophomore infielder Alex Lowry showed off her speed as she got an inside-the-park home run to give her team a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
Fast forward to the sixth inning, where the Lightning would score three runs on three hits.
The bottom of the inning started with Lowry hitting a triple to the right-center field.
Junior first baseman/outfielder Nicole Makin would step up to the plate next, as she hit an RBI single through the right side of the field to expand Goldey’s advantage to 2-0.
Two batters later, Freshman infielder Morgan Scott would knock an RBI triple to right center to extend her team’s edge to 3-0.
Freshman infielder Autumn Simpson would be the next batter up, as she would get RBI by grounding out to the pitcher to seal Goldey-Beacom’s 4-0 win over Chestnut Hill.
Pitching recap:
Sophomore pitcher Morgan McLane confused the Griffins batters in this outing, as she went seven innings, gave up six hits, had 11 strikeouts, and earned the win.
