The Goldey-Beacom College women’s basketball team earned their second victory of the season on Wednesday with a 67-62 victory over the Bowie State University Bulldogs.
Senior forwards Alexis Harrison and Alanna Speaks led the Lightning in scoring in the win with 14 points.
The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points off turnovers (16-14), assists (18-5), blocks (7-1),
Goldey-Beacom also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 41.1 % (23-56) and Bowie State shooting 28.4% ( 21-74). The Lightning also bested the Bulldogs from the three-point line, with the team shooting 45.5 %(10-22) and Bowie State shooting 7.7 %% (1-13). Goldey-Beacom was also the better team at the free-throw line in this game, as the team shot 61.1%(11-18), and the Bulldogs shot 54.3 % (19-35).
