The Goldey-Beacom College women’s soccer team opened up their season on Friday with dominating 5-0 win over St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans.
The standouts in the game for the Lightning were sophomore forward/defender Angela Lee, sophomore forward Alyssa Ruggeri, sophomore defender/midfielder Alex Lowry, senior forward Jaida Brown, sophomore defender Alexa Pacheco, and sophomore goalkeeper Nikki Cashin.
Lee had three shots, two shots at the goal, two goals, and one assist in the win.
Ruggeri had five shots, three shots at the goal, one goal, and two assists in the game.
Lowry had eight shots, five shots at the goal, and two goals in the win.
Brown had two shots, one shot at the goal, and one assist in the game.
Pacheco had one shot, and one assist in the win.
Cashin allowed zero goals in 90 minutes and had four saves in the win.
