The Wilmington University men’s basketball team took home their eighth win of the season on Saturday as they defeated the Dominican College Chargers 79-75.
The leading scorer in the win for the Wildcats was Graduate student guard Danny Walsh, who scored 20 points.
Three other Wildcats who scored in double digits in the win were junior guard Justin Thomas (18), sophomore guard Caleb Matthews (15), and Nalik Veasley (11).
WilmU had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included rebounds (40-34), and assists (18-17).
The Wildcats also had the advantage in shooting as well, with the team shooting 48.3%(28-58) and Dominican shooting 34.9%(22-63). Wilmington was also the better team at the three-point line in this game as the team shot 42.9%(6-14), and the Chargers shot 23.5% (4-17). WilmU also won the advantage at the free-throw line as the team shot 85.0 (17-20), and Dominican shot 56.3% (15-23).
