Carr scores 18 in Blue Hens 75-67 win over LIU

The University of Delaware men’s basketball team earned their fifth win of the season on Tuesday as the team defeated the Long Island University Sharks 75-67.

The leading scorer in the win for the Blue Hens was sophomore forward Andrew Carr, who had 18 points.

Four other Blue Hens players scored in double digits, which were fifth-year guard Kevin Anderson (13), junior guard Jameer Nelson Jr. (12), fifth-year guard Ryan Allen (11), and Graduate Student Dylan Painter (11).

Delaware had the advantage in multiple categories in this game, which included points in the paint (34-32), points off turnovers (16-12), second-chance points (20-8), fast-break (6-4), bench points (10-7), and turnovers (11-16).

Blue Hens also had the advantage of shooting as well, with the team shooting 45.3 %( 29-64) and with LIU shooting 45.3 %( 26-58). Delaware also bested the Sharks at the three-point line as the team shot 36.8 %(7-19), and LIU shot 25.0 %(6-24).
