The Delaware State men’s basketball team earned their second win of the season on Tuesday, as the team dominated the Regent University Royals in an 84-30 victory.
The leading scorers in the game for the Hornets were junior guard Dominik Fragala and sophomore forward Fahim Jenneto, who each scored 15 points.
Freshman Corey Perkins recorded a double-double in the game with 11 points and ten assists.
Two other Hornets scored in double digits in the game, which was fifth-year guard Myles Carter (13), and freshman player Khyrie Staten (11).
Delaware State had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (30-6), points off turnovers (29-1), second-chance points (8-2), fast-break points (22-5), bench points (26-10), rebounds (45-34), assists (16-8), turnovers (9-21), blocks (6-1), and steals (15-6).
DSU also had the advantage of shooting as well, with the team shooting 48.5 %(32-66 and with Regent shooting 20.0 %( 10-50). Delaware State also outshot the Royals at the three-point line as Hornets had a 45.2 % (14-31) and Regent had a 30.8 % (4-13) percentage. The Hornets also bested the Royals at the free-throw line, with the team shooting 85.7 % (6-7) and the Royals shooting 54.5 % (6-11).
