The Goldey-Beacom College baseball team picked up two more wins on Tuesday as the team defeated the Dominican College Chargers 8-2 in the first game and 10-3 in the second game.

Game One Stats ( 8-2 vs Dominican College)
The RBIs in the game came from sophomore shortstop Mason Maxwell (1), sophomore designated hitter Marshall Awtry (2), senior catcher Ivan Solis (1), freshman first baseman Garrett Musey (3), and junior center fielder Trent Hearn (1).
Seven players had runs in the win, which were sophomore second baseman Connor Megginson (1), Maxwell (1), Awtry (1), Solis (1), freshman right fielder Kyle Walker (1), Musey (2), and senior third baseman Justin Hill (1).
The Goldey-Beacom hitters gained 11 hits in the win, which were Megginson (1), Maxwell (1), Awtry (2), Solis (2), Walker (1), Musey (3), and Hearn (1).
Maxwell, Awtry, and Musey each hit a home run in the win.
Megginson stole a base in the win.
On the pitching side, freshman pitcher Luke Taylor had a solid start as he went five innings, gave up three hits, two walks, five strikeouts, and earned the win.
Junior pitcher Jake Heskett would finish the game as he went two innings, gave up four hits, two runs, two earned runs, one walk, and one strikeout.

Lightning strikes first in the second inning
The scoring in this game would not start until the top second inning, in which the action started with Garrett Musey hitting a double to center field.
Two batters later, Trent Hearn would reach first base on an error, which scored Musey to give Goldey-Beacom a 1-0 lead.
In the top of the third inning, Mason Maxwell would be the second batter to come to the plate as he would hit a home run to the right-center field, which gave his team a 2-0 lead.

Goldey-Beacom add two more runs in the fifth inning
The Lightning would continue to grow their lead in the fifth inning by scoring two more runs to give them a 4-0 advantage.
Marshall Awtry would push in the first run of the inning as he would hit a single to left field, which scored Justin Hill to give Goldey a 3-0 lead.
The next run came when Ivan Solis grounded out to second base, but allowed Connor Megginson to come home to extend Goldey-Beacom’s lead to 4-0 in the fifth.
In the top of the sixth inning, Garrett Musey would be the first batter up as he hit a home run to left field to give his team a 5-0 lead.

After five scoreless innings, Lightning’s starting pitcher Luke Taylor’s day was over as he went five innings, gave up three hits, two walks, five strikeouts, and earned the win.

Goldey would add three last runs to their lead in the top of the seventh inning to give them an 8-0 lead.
Marshall Awtry would score the first run of the inning as he hit a home run down the left-field line, which gave his team a 6-0 lead.

Three batters later, Garrett Musey would continue his hot hitting as he hit a triple, which brought home Kyle Walker and Ivan Solis to push Goldey-Beacom’s lead to 8-0.
The Lightning’s pitcher Jake Heskett hit a small bump in the bottom of the seventh inning as he gave up two runs but would get back on track to seal the 8-2 win.
