The University of Delaware football has won their fourth straight game in the 2021 spring season as the team defeated the Delaware State Hornets 34-14. Delaware has won the “Route 1 Rivalry” battle all ten times the two teams have met.

The offensive standouts in the game for the Blue Hens were Redshirt senior running back Dejoun Lee, redshirt junior quarterback Nolan Henderson, and redshirt junior wide receiver Thyrick Pitts.
Lee rushed for 109 yards on 14 carries and two touchdowns. The Blue Hens running back also had three catches for 40 yards.
Henderson went 11 for 19 with 167 passing yards and one touchdown. The Hens quarterback also rushed for 12 yards and one rushing touchdown.
Pitts had five receptions for 87 yards and one touchdown.

On the defensive side, the standouts for the Hens were redshirt sophomore defensive back Noah Plack, junior defensive back Kedrick Whitehead, redshirt junior linebacker Colby Reeder, redshirt junior defensive tackle Artis Hemmingway, junior defensive back Justis Henley, redshirt junior defensive back Riah Burton, redshirt senior defensive back Nijuel Hill, and redshirt junior linebacker Jack Dinicola.
Plack was the leader in total tackles for the Blue Hens with eight.
Whitehead had three tackles and recovered a fumble.
Reeder had three tackles and one sack.
Hemmingway had two tackles and one sack.
Henley had one tackle and one forced fumble.
Burton had one interception.
Hill had two tackles and one interception.
Dinicola had one interception.
