McBride’s career night rides Blue Hens past Pittsburgh 85-79

The University of Delaware women’s basketball team has won back to back games to start the season as the team defeated the University of Pittsburgh Panthers on Sunday night. This win marks the first time the Hens have beat an Atlantic Coast Conference opponent in seven years.

Junior guard Paris McBride was the leading scorer for the Hens in the win as she scored a career-high 29 points.

Two other Blue Hens scored in double digits in the win, which were junior guard/forward Jasmine Dickey (20) and senior guard Tee Johnson (13).

Delaware had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points off turnovers (25-2), fast-break points (13-8), bench points (21-14), turnovers (10-24), and steals (12-0).

The Hens also had the advantage over the Panthers at the free-throw line as the team shot 75.0 % (15-20) and Pittsburgh shot 58.8 % (10-17).
