Delaware Sports Blitz will be showcasing student-athletes performances from this past season each week.
Each week we will look at different colleges from the state of Delaware and showcase their athlete’s performance in the chosen sport of the week.
This week is all about the Delaware State’s women’s basketball team which will continue with junior guard Janasia Law.
Law averaged 6.9 points per game, 3.9 rebounds per game, 2.7 assists per game and 1.5 steals per game in 26.6 minutes per game in 30 games. The Hornets guard led the team in assists this season with 2.7 assists.
The Jacksonville, Florida native was among the best in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in assists per game, as Law was ranked in the top 10 ( ranked 8th) with 2.7 assists per game. The junior guard was also in the top 15 ( ranked 15th) in steals per game in the MEAC with 1.5.

Game One: 68-38 Loss Vs Lehigh
The Hornets opened the season with a tough 68-38 loss against Lehigh.
Law had four points, two rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals in the loss.
First Win Of The Season For DSU Vs Post
On November 9th, Delaware State would earn their first win of the season when the team beat Post 67-41.
Law had six points and one assist in DSU’s first win.
Hornets Get First Win Vs Delaware In School History
DSU would finally get their first win against their in-state rival Delaware, as the team won 67-64.
Law had six points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals in the win.
DSU Wins Third Straight Game With A 69-48 Win Vs Georgian Court
The Hornets would get their third straight win in the month of November, as the team defeated Georgian Court 69-48.
The Delaware State guard had six points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals in the game.
Delaware State Ends Four-Game Losing Streak With 89-66 Win Vs Saint Peter’s
Delaware State was able to end a four-game losing streak when the team defeated Saint Peter’s 89-66 on December 7th.
Law had six points, six rebounds and five assists in the Hornets win.
New Year Would Bring A Win For DSU
Delaware State would start the new year off with a bang, as the team defeated Morgan State 69-61.
Law had nine points, one rebound, four assists and two steals in the game.
Two Wins In A Row For Hornets
Delaware State would follow up the win over Morgan State with a 64-54 win against North Carolina Central.
Law had a season-high in points in this win with 14 points.
Two Games Later, Same Result As Delaware State Gets A 64-60 Win Vs North Carolina Central
The Hornets had their way with N.C. Central this season, as Delaware State swept the team in the regular-season series. DSU won the second meeting with a score of 64-60.
The Flordia native had seven points, two rebounds, two assists, and three steals in the win.
Hornets Begin February With A 72-55 Win Over Coppin State
Delaware State would bounce back from a tough loss by North Carolina A&T with earning a 73-55 win over Coppin State.
Law had seven points, two rebounds, four assists and one steal in the game.
DSU Takes Down University of Maryland Eastern Shore
The Hornets would win their second straight game in the month of February, as the team defeated Maryland Eastern Shore 72-58.
Law had a double-double in this win with 12 points and 12 rebounds. The Hornets guard also had five assists and three assists in the game.
Hornets Pick Up A 76-64 Win Vs South Carolina State
Delaware State would get a 76-64 road win against South Carolina State.
Law had nine points, seven rebounds, six assists and one steal in the game.
DSU Picks Up Their 11th Win Of The Season In 61-53 Victory Vs Florida A&M
DSU would pick up their 11th win of the season when the team defeated Florida A&M 61-53 on February 15th.
Law had six points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals in the win.
Delaware State’s Final Win Of The Season Would Come Against Coppin State
Hornets would sweep the regular-season series against Coppin State as they picked up a 71-66 win in February.
Law had 10 points, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals in the win.
Hornets Lose Final Regular Season Game 76-71 to Howard
Delaware State would close the season with a tough 76-71 loss to Howard.
Law would have a season-high 13 rebounds in the loss.
