The Wesley College men’s basketball is now on a five-game winning streak after defeating the Marywood University Pacers on Saturday at Wentworth Gymnasium.
The leading scorer of the game for Wesley was senior guard Brian Cameron who scored 33 points. This is Cameron’s fifth game with scoring 30 plus points. Cameron also recorded a double-double in the win as he collected 14 rebounds with his 33 points.
Three other Wolverines scored in double digits in the win which was senior guard Mychal Stefanides (12), senior forward Terrence Braxton (10) and freshman forward Brye Hopkins (12).
Wesley had the advantage in multiple categories in the game which included points in paint (52-34), second-chance points (23-16), fast-break points (7-5), rebounds (45-30), assists (20-12) and steals (6-5).
The Wolverines also had the advantage of shooting as well, with the team shooting 49.3 %( 36-73) and with Marywood shooting 39.0 % (23-59). Wesley also held the advantage at the free-throw line with the team having a 94.4 % shooting percentage (17-18) and with the Pacers having an 83.3 % (20-24) shooting percentage. The Wolverines bested Marywood at the three-point line having a 33.3 % shooting percentage (8-24) and with the Pacers having a 28.6 % (6-21) shooting percentage.

Wesley Leads By 20 At The Half
In the first half, Wesley was seeing that basket really well as the team shot 55.56 % (20-36). The Wolverines also shot 100.00 %( 9-9) at the free-throw line in the first half.
Marywood shot 44.00 % (11-25) in the first half and they also shot 81.82 % (9-11) at the free-throw line.
The first 14 minutes of this game was close as the lead would go back and forth constantly between the two teams and never really a big lead.
At the 5:29 minute mark, the game was tied at 31 but Wesley was ready to take full control of the game. The Wolverines went on a 22-2 run to take a 53-33 lead into the half.
Brian Cameron was the leader on that run as he scored seven of the 22 points.
Wolverines Take Home A 25 Point Win
In the second half, Wesley regressed in their shooting as the team shot 43.24 % (16-37) and they shot 88.89 % (8-9) at the free-throw line.
Marywood shot 35.29 % (12-34) in the second half and they also shot 84.62 % (11-13) at the free-throw line.
Starting at the 14:13 minute mark, Wesley outscored the Pacers 19-12 to expand their lead to 86-57 with 6:58 left in the game.
The Pacers outscored the Wolverines 15-11 for the rest of the game but Wesley would still take a comfortable 97-72 win.
Wesley heads on the road to take on Cabrini on January 25th at 3 PM ET.
