Wesley College’s men’s basketball head coach Dean Burrows announced on Monday that his program will open the 2018-2019 season at Towson University on Sunday, November 11th.
Wolverines are no stranger to playing teams out the Colonial Athletic Association under Coach Burrows as this will be the third time the team played a team out of the Division I conference.
The two previous CAA teams that Wesley played were University of Delaware (2017-2018 season) and Elon University (2015-2016 season).
Coach Burrows is ready to compete against an formidable opponent as Towson to open the season:
“Our program is once again beyond excited and blessed to have the opportunity to be able to compete against a highly respected Towson program led by Coach (Pat) Skerry,” stated Burrows. “His teams are known for their toughness and for getting after it on the floor, so we know what we are getting into. This is a great opportunity for our program to see where we are at when mid-November comes around and an experience our program will always try and provide our guy’s with.”
Wolverines will be in a new conference this year which is the new Atlantic East Conference.
Wesley hopes to continue the dominance they had in the Capital Athletic Conference in their new conference as last season the team had their 11th straight consecutive berths in the CAC Championship tournament.
