University of Delaware’s Pro Day was on Monday and it was led by Blue Hens defensive lineman Bilal Nichols who was ready to show the NFL scouts that the Blue Hens are NFL ready.
Nichols already impressed a lot of NFL scouts at the NFL Scouting combine with his 40 yard dash time which was 4.95 seconds.

Nichols was not the only Blue Hen trying to impress scouts, the other Hens were Anthony Jackson, Grant Roberts, Blaine Woodson, Diante Cherry, Brandon Whaley, John Nassib, Simba Gwashavanhu and Eric Patton.
There were 23 scouts and one general manger from 23 NFL teams watching the Blue Hens go through different drills with included vertical jump, bench press, broad jump, three cone drill, shuttle drills and drills for the different position groups.
Bilal Nichols Pro Day Results:
40 Yard Dash: 4.95
Bench Press: 29 Reps
Vertical Jump: 30.5
Broad Jump: 9’ft 4 in
Here is what Nichols told reporters about having this opportunity to show his skills in front of NFL scouts:
“I’ve been extremely blessed to have incredible coaches and teammates throughout my career and they all helped us get to this day,” Nichols said. “To be able to showcase my abilities and skills in front of so many NFL organizations, it’s an honor for me just to have that opportunity.”
Also Nichols talked about what he learned from the NFL Scouts in Monday’s Pro Day:
“That was awesome,” Nichols said, “just to see some of the things they put their guys through, the guys who are considered the best in the world at this profession. That was a great experience. Got to talk to them and they gave me great feedback on things I need to work and improve on.” ( via DelawareOnline.com)

40 Yard Dash: 4.71
Bench Press: 21 Reps
Vertical Jump: 30 inches
Broad Jump: 9 ft 11 in
Jackson impressed scouts during his 9 foot 11 inch broad jump which drew applause among the NFL scouts watching the Blue Hen.
Blaine Woodson Pro Day Results:
40 Yard Dash: 5.09
Bench Press: 25 Reps
Vertical Jump: 31 inches
Broad Jump: 9’ft 2 in
Here is what Woodson told reporters about having this opportunity to show his skills in front of NFL scouts:
“I’ve been preparing for this day for a long time, it’s a day we’ve all dreamed about,” Woodson added. “Now it’s just time to hope that someone gives us a shot.”
