It was a tough year for the Wilmington University women’s basketball team who decreased their total wins from the 2016-2017 season by half ( 12-16 & 9-10 CACC). The season might of not gone the way the Wildcats wanted but they definitely fought and scrapped the whole season. Wilmington averaged 68.6 points per game this season which was fourth best in the conference. The team had the firepower they just could never put it together on a consistent basis.

The season started with promise with Wilmington University winning the season opener against Franklin Pierce 79-67. It was the first time since the 2015-2016 season, that Wilmington had won a season opener.  The leading scorer of the game for the Wildcats was  guard Macy Robinson who scored 24 points and had 10 rebounds for a double-double in the win.

Robinson was one of Wilmington’s leaders this season constantly leading the team in points per game.   Robinson led the team with 14.4 points game per game and 390 total points scored in the season.
