University of Delaware’s defensive tackle Bilal Nichols impressed a lot NFL scouts in last weekend’s NFL scouting combine, where he ran the second fastest 40 yard dash for a defensive lineman.
Nichols ran the 40 yard dash in 4.95 seconds and also bench pressed 29 reps in his workout.
The 29 reps was the ninth best among defensive lineman at the combine.
The Newark, Delaware native did tweak his hamstring after the 40 yard dash and was unable to finish the workout but Pro Football Rumors reports he should be ready to go for Delaware’s Pro Day on the March 19th.
Nichols measured in at the combine at 6 foot 4 inches, 33 3/8 arm length, 10 1/4 hands and 306 pounds.
According to Tony Pauline of Draft Analyst.com, the New York Jets and Detroit Lions have shown a lot of interest in the Blue Hen defensive tackle.
