The Colonial Athletic Association announced on Wednesday that University of Delaware’s junior forward Nicole Enabosi was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Player of the Year.
Enabosi was also named to CAA All-First Team and All-Defensive Teams.
It was also announced that rookie forward Lizzie Oleary was named to the CAA All-Rookie team.
The dominance of Enabosi was not just felt in the CAA this season, but in the nation as well with the Delaware forward having some of best stats in the NCAA Divison I basketball.
In 29 games this season with the Blue Hens the junior forward averaged 18.4 points per game (66th in NCAA DI & 1st in CAA), 12.2 rebounds per game ( 7th in NCAA DI & 1st in CAA) and averaged .515 field goal percentage ( 60th in NCAA DI & 2nd in CAA).
The Gaithersburg, Md. native holds several single season programs records at Delaware including rebounds with 505 and double doubles with 22 on the season.
Enabosi becomes the fifth Delaware women’s basketball player to earn CAA Player of the Year.
The four other players were Sarah Gause (East Coast Conference, 1985), Jen Riley (ECC, 1991; North America Conference, 1992), Tiara Malcom (CAA, 2005) and Elena Delle Donne (CAA, 2010, 2012, 2013).
Also, this is the second time Enabosi has earned CAA All-First Team and All-Defensive Teams honors.
Then we have freshman forward Lizzie Oleary who was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team.
In 29 games this season, Oleary averaged four points per game, 2.8 points rebounds, 13 total blocks, .743 free throw percentage and .489 field goal percentage.
