University of Delaware’s Women’s basketball team will compete internationally this summer, when they head to Spain from August 11-20.
The Blue Hens will be traveling through Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia where they will play in three games against international opponents. The Hens will also be participating in community service during their 10-day trip.
This what head coach Natasha Adair had to say about the Hens going international:
“I’m honored that this is something that we’re able to do for our student-athletes,” remarked head coach Natasha Adair. “We are grateful to our administration and supporters as this is not only an opportunity to experience culture, but to grow as a team. For a lot of our student-athletes, this will be their first experience of traveling abroad. Our trip will blend training and camaraderie, allowing our team to experience a new culture while developing our talents as basketball players and as people. I have seen first-hand the invaluable contribution a foreign tour can have to a team, both on and off the court, and I am thrilled we will get to experience this as Blue Hens.”
“All in all, this is going to be an amazing experience,” Adair exclaimed. “I’m elated for our program and extremely thankful for our supporters and administration in this endeavor.”
