Goldey- Beacom and Wilmington University  basketball players each earned weekly honors from the CACC  for their play for the week.

CACC Defensive Player Of The Week

Dante Thompson:

Thompson was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week for his play against  Holy Family and University of the Sciences last week.

During the two games, Thompson averaged 14.5 points,  11 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 2 blocks.

In the win against Holy Family, Thompson had 19 points, 16 rebounds, four steals and four blocks.

In the win against University of the Sciences, Thompson had 10 points, six rebounds and three steals.

Thompson ranks high in the CACC in many categories this season including  eighth in the league with 7.5 rebounds per game, 10th with a .488 shooting percentage and 35th with 11.2 points per game.

The senior forward also leads Goldey-Beacom in rebounds and rebounds per game which he has  111 rebounds and 7.4 rebounds per game.

CACC Weekly Honor Roll

Corey Taite:

Taite was named  to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll for his play against Holy Family and University of the Sciences last week.

During the two games, Taite averaged 20.5 points,  six assists and four steals. Taite also hit seven 3 pointers during the two games last week.

In the win against Holy Family, Taite had 25 points, seven rebounds, five 3-pointers, three assists and two steals.

In the win against University of the Sciences, Taite had  16 points, three rebounds, three assists, two 3-pointers and two steals.

Taite ranks high in the nation in many categories including  22nd in the nation with 32 steals, 35th with 2.13 steals per game, 60th with 35 minutes per contest and 85th with 18.7 points per game.

Taite ranks high in many Goldey-Beacom categories also including 11th in school history with 936 points, seventh with 214 assists, tied for fourth with 237 free throws, sixth with 132 steals, eighth with 111 three-pointers and 10th with 294 baskets.

This Taite’s fifth time this season named to CACC’s honor roll and the second in back to back weeks.

Miles Gillette

Gillette was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his play against Georgian Court and Chestnut Hill.

During the two games, Gillette averaged  21 points and 13.5 rebounds in the two wins last week.

In the win against Georgian Court, Gillette had 34 points and 14 rebounds.

In the win against Chestnut Hill, Gillette had eight points and 13 rebounds.

In 17 games this year, Gillette is averaging 11.6 points per game, 7.5 rebounds per game and 0.5 assists per game.

CACC Rookie of the Week

Jermaine Head

 

Head was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week for his play against Georgian Court and Chestnut Hill.

During the two games, Head  averaged  23.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 5 steals and 6 assists.

In the win against Georgian Court, Head had 18 points, eight assists and 5 steals in the game.

In the win against Chestnut Hill, Head had 29 points, four assists, five steals and four rebounds.

In 17 games this year, Head is averaging 18.5 points per game, 4.9 rebounds per game and 4.2 assists per game.

Head is second in the CACC in steals with 33.

This Head’s second time being named Rookie of the Week by the CACC.
