The Colonial Athletic Association released the schedules of 2017-2018 Women’s Basketball programs on Thursday and University of Delaware will have a challenging start to season with starting on the road.
With first year head coach Natasha Adair leading the way this year, the Hens will be road warriors in the beginning of the season with five of their first seven games being away from the Bob Carpenter center.
The Hens start the year at Buffalo ( November 10th), then head to Connecticut to face Hartford ( November 13th) and then the Hens finally head to the Bob Carpenter Center to face American ( November 16th) and Boston University ( November 19th).
Then during the Thanksgiving break, the Hens head to Philadelphia for the Saint Joseph’s Thanksgiving Tournament which will be on the 25th and 26th of November.
After the tournament the Blue Hens will stay on the road and head to New York and New Jersey for their next three games which are St. Bonaventure ( November 29th), Princeton ( December 2nd) and Army ( December 6th).
After almost a month on the road, Blue Hens finally get back to the Bob Carpenter Center to play two home games vs in-state non-conference rival Delaware State ( December 10th) and Loyola ( December 22nd).
The Blue Hens start their CAA conference play on December 29th at Drexel, then heads back to the Bob Carpenter to face Elon ( January 5th) and then goes back on the road to face the College of Charleston ( January 7th).
Then starting January 12th, the Blue Hens only play three of the next six games at the Bob Carpenter Center. The Hens will host Towson ( January 14th),Northeastern ( January 26th) and UNCW ( January 28th) at the Bob Carpenter Center.
The January 28th game vs UNCW will be the first time former Blue Hen head coach Tina Martin will be back at the Bob but this time as an UNCW assistant coach.
Starting February 4th, Delaware will play four of their five next games at home. Hens will host William & Mary ( February 9th), Hofstra ( February 11th), James Madison ( February 16th) and College of Charleston ( February 18th).
The Blue Hens end their season with four road conference games with William & Mary ( February 23rd), James Madison ( February 25th), Drexel ( March 1st) and then Towson ( March 3rd).
The 2018 CAA Women’s Basketball Championship will be hosted by Drexel University on March 7-10 at the Daskalakis Athletic Center in Philadelphia.
