Our 2025-2026 season player review series continues with the Goldey-Beacom College men’s basketball team as the spotlight turns to Junior guard/forward Emarquis Jones .
Jones was second on the team in scoring this season, with 13.5 points per game.
The Lightning guard/forward made scoring look easy this season, posting 25 games where he recorded double-digits in points. He notched five games this year, where he scored 20 points.
Jones season-high in points came on January 10th in an 83-73 win over Post, where he scored 24 points. He made nine of his 11 shots, drained all four attempts from the three-point line, and hit two of his free-throw shots in the game.
The New York native had his eyes locked on the boards all season, as he led the team in rebounds per game, with 6.9. Powell posted six games in which he collected ten or more rebounds. His season-high in rebounds came on February 3rd in a 77-73 win over Wilmington University, collecting 15. Emarquis also had a double-double that game, adding 18 points that day.
When he had everything working in a game, double-doubles came easily, as the GBC junior recorded six on the season.
Jones knew how to score, but he also knew how to find his teammates for their turn for a bucket, as he was second on the team in assists per game with 1.9. He notched 16 games, where he dished out two or more assists this year. His season-high came on January 14th in a 109-72 win over Jefferson, where he dished out nine assists.
The Goldey-Beacom junior guard/forward was great on offense, but he brought the same energy on defense, leading the team in steals per game with two. He swiped two or more steals in 18 games this season. His season-high in steals came on December 16th in a 94-86 win over Molloy, where he had six steals.
Opposing players did not want to see him coming as they lined up for a shot, as he was second on the team in blocks per game, 0.8. He recorded six games this season in which he had two or more blocks. Jones ‘ season high was three blocks, which he recorded in two games this year.
Jones averaged 13.5 points per game, 6.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, two steals, and 0.8 blocks in 32 games.
