Zayon Marsh scores 33 points in Goldey-Beacom’s 97-89 win over Holy Family

Goldey-Beacom would lead by five points at the end of the first half.

The game started with Holy Family roaring to a 9-0 advantage with 17:54 left in the opening half.

Seconds later, the Lightning would respond by scoring nine straight points to tie the game at nine with 15:24 remaining in the first half.

Fast forward to the 4:44 minute mark, where Omari Banks would hit a jumper to give Goldey-Beacom a six-point lead (34-28).

A few seconds later, Ayshion Centeno would be sent to the free throw line, where he would make all three of his shots to increase GBC’s advantage to 37-28.

Starting at the 4:15 minute mark, Holy Family would start firing back as the team outscored the Lightning 15-11 to end the first half trailing by five points (48-43).

Lightning wins 97-89!

The Tigers would continue their momentum from the late minutes of the first half, as the team outscored Goldey-Beacom 10-6 to pull the score within one point (54-53) with 15:43 remaining in the game. David Robinson Jr. would score six of Holy Family’s ten points during that time.

Twenty-four seconds later, Goldey-Beacom would start to wake up as the team would fire back with a 17-8 run to extend their lead to 71-61 with 11:51 left in the game. Ayshion Centeno and Zayon Marsh would score 11 of the Lightning’s 17 points during this time.

Fast forward to the 8:20 minute mark, where Tyshon Judge would drain a three-point shot to give Goldey an 11-point lead (83-72).

Starting at the 7:21 minute mark, Holy Family would claw their way back into this game as they outscored the Lightning 11-3 to slice the deficit to three points (86-83) with 3:29 left in the second half.

Goldey-Beacom would answer back by outscoring the Tigers 11-6 to seal a 97-86 victory. Marsh would score eight of the Lightning’s 11 points during this time.
