Wilmington leads by two runs after one inning of play

The scoring would get started in game two in the bottom of the first inning, where Wilmington would use their speed and capitalize on Bloomfield’s mistakes to score two runs.

Sara Miller would get the action started in the bottom of the first inning, as she would hit a single up the middle of the field. Miller would follow that up by stealing second base. On the next play, she would steal third base and also would score because of the Bears’ pitcher throwing error. Miller’s score would give WilmU a 1-0 lead.

The second run of the inning for the Cats came when Gabbie Saucedo hit a bunt single, and again Bloomfield’s pitcher had a throwing miscue, which allowed a baserunner score to give Wilmington a 2-0 lead.

WilmU adds another run in the third inning

The Wildcats would add another run to their lead in the third inning to take a 3-0 lead.

Gabbie Saucedo would push in the lone run in the bottom of the third inning by reaching base on a fielder’s choice, which allowed Sara Miller to score to give Wilmington a 3-0 lead.

Wilmington wins 6-0!

In the bottom of the fourth inning, WilmU’s bats remained hot as the team had four hits and pushed in three runs to take a 6-0 advantage.

Sara Miller would drive in the first run of the fourth inning as she hit a two-out RBI double to the pitcher to give her team a 4-0 lead. On the next play, Lexi Moore would reach first base by a fielding error from the Bears’ first baseman, which would allow Tristyn Stewart to score to give the Wildcats a 5-0 lead. Sara Miller would also score during that time by a throwing error from the first baseman, which gave her team a 6-0 lead.

After pitching six shutout innings, Wilmington’s starting pitcher Renamarie Rocha just needed one more to get a complete game shutout, which she did just that, as Rocha was able to get a ground out, pop out, and line out to seal the 6-0 win.
