Tyi Skinner scores career-high 25 points in Blue Hens 85-71 win over Towson

The University of Delaware women’s basketball team earned their 21st win of the season on Thursday with an 85-71 win over the Towson University Tigers.

Sophomore guard Tyi Skinner was the leading scorer for the Blue Hens in the win as she had a career-high 25 points.

Redshirt senior forward Ty Battle also recorded a double-double in the win with 18 points and a career-high of 24 rebounds.

Senior guard/forward Jasmine Dickey also scored in double-digits as she had 23 points.

Delaware had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (42-28), points off of turnovers (23-5), second-chance points (16-12), fast-break points (12-2), rebounds (48-45), assists (14-12), turnovers (15-19), and steals (9-4).

Blue Hens also had the advantage in shooting as well, with the team shooting 44.4 % (36-81) and with Towson shooting 34.2 (25-73). The Hens bested the Cougars from the three-point line as well, with the team shooting 36.8 %(7-19) and the Tigers shooting 35.0% (7-20). Delaware was also the better team at the free-throw line in this game as the team shot 85.7 %(6-7), and the Towson shot 82.4 % (14-17).
