Jasmine Dickey leads Blue Hens past Charlotte in 73-57 win

Hens lead by two points after one-quarter of play

The game would start with Charlotte jumping out to an 11-6 lead with 5:01 left in the first quarter.

Delaware would answer back by scoring eight straight points to take a 14-11 lead with 1:19 left in the first quarter. The defense was a key factor on this run as the team had one steal, two blocks, four rebounds.

Seconds later, the 49ers would tie the game at 14 by draining a three-point shot.

Jasmine Dickey would score the last two buckets of the first quarter, as she made two free throw shots to give the Blue Hens a 16-14 lead.

Blue Hens lead by six points at the end of the first half

In the first four minutes of the second quarter, the University of Delaware outscored UNC Charlotte 8-2 to give them a 24-16 lead. Jasmine Dickey and sophomore guard Tara Cousins scored seven of the eight points on the run.

The Hens would add six more points to their score for the rest of the quarter to end the first half with a 30-24 lead.

Delaware leads by 14 points at the end of the third quarter

The University of Delaware pushed their game into another gear in the third quarter as the team outscored the 49ers 22-11 to extend their lead to 52-35 with 41 seconds left in the period. The trio of Jasmine Dickey, Tyi Skinner, and Ty Battle would score 20 of the 22 points on the run.

The last bucket of the fourth quarter would belong to Charlotte, who would make a three-point shot to cut the lead to 52-38.

The University of Delaware wins 73-57!

Delaware would start the fourth quarter on a 15-9 run, which pushed their lead to 67-47 with 3:50 left in the game. Jasmine Dickey was the leader of this run as she scored eight of the 15 points on the run. The Blue Hens were feeling it from the three-point line as the team hit three during the run, which came from Dickey (2), and Tyi Skinner (1).

Starting at the 3:28 minute mark, the 49ers would outscore the Blue Hens 10-6, but it would not matter as the University of Delaware would take home a 73-57 win.
