Delaware takes a 13 point lead at the half
The Blue Hens struck gold early in this one as the team went on an 11-4 run in the first half. Ryan Allen was the leader of the run for the Hens as he scored six of the 11 points. Delaware hit three shots from the three-point line on the run, which came from Allen ( two) and Aleks Novakovich (one).
At the 14:07 minute mark, Delaware would score six straight points with back-to-back three-point shots from Kevin Anderson and Allen, which extended their lead to 19-9 with 13:46 left in the first half.
In the next nine minutes, the Blue Hens would drain five three-point shots which, helped expand their lead to 38-26 with 3:15 left in the first half. Ebby Asamoah was feeling it from the three-point line during this time as he drained three shots from downtown. Anderson and sophomore guard Johnny McCoy hit the other two.

In the remaining minutes of the first half, Delaware would outscore Salem 6-5 to push their lead to 44-31.
Three-point shooting was a key reason Blue Hens had a double-digit lead in the first half as the team hit 10-18 (55.6).
The Hens bench outscored the Tigers by 13-5 in the first half.
Allen led the team at the half with 11 points.
Blue Hens hang on to win by three points
Coming out of halftime, Delaware would still have the hot hand as the team went on an 11-6 run to take a 55-37 lead with 16:37 left in the second half. The leader of this run would be Ebby Asamoah, who scored eight of the 11 points. Also, the Hens three-point magic continued as the team hit three on the run which two came from Asamoah and one from Kevin Anderson.
Starting at the 15:44 minute mark, Salem would make this a game again as the team went on a 13-4 run to cut the Blue Hens lead to nine points (59-50) with 12:53 left in the second half. Delaware was not the only team who could shoot from the three-point line, as nine of the Tigers’ 13 points on the run came from downtown.
At the 11:46 minute mark, the Blue Hens would answer back with an 11-5 run of their own, which gave the team a 70-55 lead with 7:45 left in the game. Aleks Novakovich was the key player on this run as he scored seven of the 11 points.
Seconds later, the Tigers would continue to climb back in this game as the team went on a 15-0 run to tie the score at 70 with 2:58 left in the second half.
Not even a minute later, the Hens would take a three-point lead (73-70) from a Dylan Painter free throw and an Anderson layup.
Salem would answer right back with Jordan Forbes hitting a three point shot to tie the game at 73 with 1:22 left in the game.
How would Delaware answer back? Well, of course, by hitting back-to-back three-pointers, which gave the Hens a 79-73 lead with 18 seconds left.
The Tigers were not done yet as the team drained a three-point shot to cut the lead to 79-76 with 10 seconds left in the game.
Salem would miss the would-be game-tying three-point shot with seconds left in the game, which sealed the win for the Hens.
Turnovers killed Delaware in the second half as the team had 11, which allowed the Tigers to get back in the game.
Anderson and Asamoah combined for 22 points in the second half of the game.
