Delaware Sports Blitz will be showcasing student-athletes performances from this past season each week.
Each week we will look at different colleges from the state of Delaware and showcase their athlete’s performance in the chosen sport of the week.
This week is all about Delaware’s women’s basketball team which will continue with sophomore guard/forward Jasmine Dickey.
Dickey averaged 12.4 points per game, 9.2 rebounds per game, 1.9 assists per game and 1.6 steals per game in 32.6 minutes per game in 29 games this season. The Hen guard/forward led the team in rebounds per game with 9.2. The Delaware sophomore also led the team in steals per game this season with 1.6. The Blue Hen guard/forward was a double-double machine this season with 13.
The Baltimore, Maryland native was among the best in the Colonial Athletic Association in points per game, as Dickey placed in the 12th spot with 12.4 points per game. Dickey was also second in the CAA in rebounds per game with 9.2. The sophomore also was one of the best in the conference in steals per game, as Dickey placed 10th with 1.6.

Delaware Falls To Maine In Season Opener
On November 8th, the Blue Hens would open the season at home but the outcome is not what the team wanted as they lost to Maine 69-56.
Dickey had a double-double in the loss with 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Delaware Ends A Four-Game Skid To Get First Win Of Season
The Hens struggled early in the season to find any traction but the Hens would put the pieces together in the CSF Titan Classic which would lead to their first win of the season against Cal St. Fullerton with a 72-55 score on November 29th.
Dickey had a double-double in the win with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Overtime Win For The Hens Against Santa Clara
Delaware’s second win of the season did not come easy, as the team had to battle with Santa Clara in overtime to get an 81-80 win on November 30th.
Dickey had her fourth double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Hens Take Down Robert Morris 73-62
The Blue Hens would bounce back from a tough loss from George Washington with a 73-62 win against Robert Morris on December 7th.
The UD sophomore had eight points, four rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals in the win.
Blue Hens Take A 63-44 Win Over George Mason
UD was riding a two-game losing streak coming into the George Mason game but the team would put that streak to an end with a 63-44 win over the Patriots.
Dickey had her fifth double-double of the season in the win with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Delaware Halts A Two-Game Skid With 80-59 Win Vs Hofstra
In the second week of the new year, the Hens would collect an 80-59 win against Hofstra.
Dickey had a season-high in points and rebounds in this win, as she had 21 points and 16 rebounds.
Hens Defeat Elon 65-56
UD would lose three straight road games coming into the Elon game but the team would pull out a 65-56 win against the Phoenix.
Dickey would record her eighth double-double of the season with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Delaware Takes A 69-62 Win Over Towson
The Blue Hens would rebound with a tough loss from James Madison with a 69-62 win over Towson on February 2nd.
The Baltimore, Maryland native had 17 points, nine rebounds, two assists and one steal in the win.
Back To Back Wins For UD
The following week, the Hens would continue to roll as the team picked up another win with an 81-69 victory against Northeastern on February 7th.
Dickey had her ninth double-double of the season in this game, as she had 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Three Straight Wins For Delaware
The Hens loved playing Hofstra this year as the team swept the season series. In the second meeting between the two teams, Delaware won 77-67.
Dickey would have her 10th double-double of the season in this win, as she had 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Hens Take Home A 73-60 Win Vs Elon
On February 21st, the Blue Hens would take home a 73-60 win over Elon.
Dickey had 17 points, five rebounds and one block in the win.
Delaware Snaps A Three-Game Losing Streak With 63-54 Win Vs College Of Charleston
The Blue Hens would end a tough three-game losing streak with a 63-54 win over College Of Charleston on March 5th.
Dickey had her 13th double-double of the season in the win, as she had 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Hens Get Final Win Vs UNCW
Delaware would earn their final win of the season at home with a 61-57 win over UNCW.
Dickey would have 10 points, four rebounds, one assist and two steals in the final win.
