Former Goldey-Beacom Men’s basketball standout Dante Thompson is headed to Spain after the Lightning forward signed a contract with CB Cazorla of the EBA League, according to Goldey-Beacom’s site.
Thompson joins fellow Goldey-Beacom alum Elijah Tillman who will be playing in Spain but with the Basquet Sitges of the EBA League.
Thompson ended his senior year with the Lightning with 12.4 points per game ( 27th in the CACC), 8.1 rebounds per game ( 70th in the nation), 1.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game in 26.8 minutes per game in 29 games.
The former Goldey-Beacom forward also had six double-doubles and scored in double digits twenty-two times last season.
Thompson earned CACC All-Conference third team and third team City of Basketball Love for his solid play last year, especially when it came to the boards.
The big man’s rebounding helped lead the Lightning to the CACC semifinals and secure the CACC South Division title.
In his two seasons at Goldey-Beacom, Thompson totaled 705 points ( 19th in school history), 415 rebounds ( fifth in school history), 74 assists, 35 blocks and 75 steals in 56 games.
