University of Delaware First Baseman Nick Patten was chosen as one of the top 40 first baseman in the nation at the NCAA Division I level by D1Baseball.com.
Patten was ranked as the top Colonial Athletic Association first baseman and came in at number 37 overall.
The Butler, Pa. native had a .285 batting average, 12 home runs, Led the team with slugging percentage with .565 and 46 RBIs in his freshman season. Patten was named a CBM/Louisville Slugger All-American and named to the to the conference All-Rookie team in his freshman year.
Delaware Baseball Head coach Jim Sherman said this about Patten’s honor:
“It’s a great honor for Nick to be selected the 37th best first baseman in the country by D1 Baseball. He’s worked extremely hard in the off-season on his game. He’s got big league power and is a pro-style first baseman. We’re lucky to have him here at UD.”
