University of Delaware’s Abby Gonzales was recognized on Monday by the Colonial Athletic Association as the league’s Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week.
Gonzales has helped the Blue Hens stay hot recently, which the team is on five game winning streak.
The freshman Blue Hen started the week scoring 16 points ( tying a career high), 5 assists and 3 steals in the win vs William and Mary.
Then Gonzales had 7 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in the win vs Towson.
Gonzales averaged 11.5 points, 3.5 assists and 3 rebounds in the 2 wins last week.
The rookie Hen has averaged 26.3 minutes played, 5.9 points per game, 2 rebounds and 2 assists in her first year at University of Delaware.
