The Goldey-Beacom College baseball team earned its 26th win of the season on Sunday by defeating the Dominican University of New York Chargers 3-2.

Goldey-Beacom takes home a 3-2 win!
The Lightning lit up the scoreboard first in this game when Sophomore catcher/infielder Jake Macey hit an RBI single up the middle to give his team a 1-0 edge in the top of the opening inning.
Dominican would tie the game up at one in the bottom of the inning, when they sent a runner home off a groundout.
Two innings later, GBC retook the lead (2-1), when Sophomore outfielder/pitcher Roman Keith knocked a RBI single to left field.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Chargers would tie the game up at two with an RBI triple to center field.
Macey would come up clutch in the fifth inning for Goldey-Beacom, when he pushed a runner home with a SAC Fly to give his team a 3-2 advantage.
Fast forward to the bottom of the ninth inning, where things got a little dicey for the Lightning.
After getting the first two Dominican batters out, the bases would become loaded when batters earned a spot by getting hit by a pitch, a single, and then a walk.
Fortunately, nothing came out of it, and the last batter of the day flied out to seal Goldey-Beacom’s 3-2 win.
Pitching Recap:
Goldey-Beacom used four pitchers in the game, including sophomore pitcher Zach Davis, who went 4.2 innings, gave up seven hits, two runs, two earned runs, three walks, struck out two and earned the win.
Senior Kevin Dillon earned the save by going 1.1 innings, giving up two hits, one walk, and one strikeout.
