Game One Recap:
The first two innings of this game belonged to the two starting pitchers, as they only allowed a combined three hits during that time.
Wilmington would break up the Post starting pitcher’s fun, as sophomore outfielder Gabriella Saucedo would hit an RBI double to center field to give her team a 1-0 lead.
Fast forward to the top of the fifth inning, when junior third baseman/outfielder Sara Miller would give the Wildcats a nice cushion in their advantage as she slapped a three-run homer to extend her team’s edge to 4-0.
Wilmington’s pitching would take care of the Eagles’ hitters for the rest of the game to seal a 4-0 win!
Pitching recap:
Redshirt sophomore pitcher Delani Sheehan had the Post hitters confused all day, as she went seven innings, gave up three hits, struck out nine batters, hit one batter, and earned the win.
