Game Two Recap:
In the first two innings of this matchup, the two pitchers brought all the right stuff to the mound, as only one hit was given up during that time.
Wilmington would end the scoreless streak in the top of the third inning when the team scored three runs on four hits.
The first run of the inning came when Freshman infielder Cassidy Zelano hit an RBI sacrifice fly to give the team a 1-0 lead.
Four batters later, Sara Miller would slap a two-run single to center field to expand WilmU’s edge to 3-0 in the top of the third inning.
In the next inning, Zelano would push in another run for the Wildcats, as she hit an RBI single up the middle to give her team a 4-0 advantage.
Sara Miller would continue Wilmington scoring ways in the fifth inning as she knocked an RBI single to left field to extend her team’s lead to 5-0.
Bloomfield would score two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, but WilmU would hang on to win 5-2.
Pitching recap:
Redshirt sophomore pitcher Delani Sheehan had a solid outing as she went five innings, gave up four hits, two walks, struck out six batters, and earned the win.
Freshman pitcher Brooke Koehler would relieve Sheehan, as she went two innings, gave up two hits, two runs, one earned run, two walks, and struck out four batters.
