Blue Hens would lead by 13 after one half of play.
The game started with the University of Delaware flying off to a 7-0 advantage with 17:26 left in the opening half.
Seconds later, Towson would fire back by scoring straight points of their own to tie the game with 15:47 remaining in the first half.
Starting at the 15:30-minute mark, the Blue Hens would go on an 11-0 run to grab an 18-7 lead with 13:02 left on the clock in the opening half. Jyáre Davis and Ebby Asamoah would score seven of UD’s 11 points during that time.
Delaware’s defense was also a key part of this run, as they had one steal and two defensive rebounds.
Fast forward to the 3:16 minute mark, where Christian Ray would get a layup to go in to extend UD’s advantage by 16 points (37-21).
Sixty-five seconds later, the Tigers would outscore Delaware 5-2 to end the first half down by 13 points (39-26).
Delaware wins 72-59!
Towson would have some pep in their step in the early minutes of the second half, as the team outscored the University of Delaware 20-11 to cut the lead to four points (50-46) with 12:10 left in the game.
Starting at the 12:10 minute mark, the Blue Hens would go on a 10-3 run, which pushed their advantage to 60-49 with 5:55 remaining in the second half. Jyáre Davis and Ebby Asamoah would score eight of the Hens’ ten points during that time.
UD’s defense was also solid during this run, as they had five defensive rebounds, one block, and two steals.
Fast forward to the 2:14 minute mark, where the Tigers’ Rahdir Hicks would have a jump shot go in to slice the Hens’ advantage to seven points (62-55).
Five seconds later, the Blue Hens would go on a 10-4 run to seal a 72-59 victory over Towson. Junior guard Gianmarco Arletti and Asamoah would each drain four foul shots during this time.
