McQueen scores two goals in Goldey-Beacom’s 4-2 win over Georgian Court

Goldey-Beacom leads by two goals at the end of the first half.

In the first five minutes and 25 seconds into this match, the Lions limited the Lightning from finding any good looks on the goal, as the team only mustered up one shot attempt, which would be blocked.

Georgian Court kept the Goldey Beacom offense quiet in the early minutes of this game and would use it to their advantage by finding the net to take a 1-0 lead at the 8:54 minute mark in the first half.

Fifteen minutes and 74 seconds later, the Lightning would finally strike in this game as Alyssa Ruggeri would find Angela Lee to tie the score at one.

Goldey Beacom wasted no time in scoring their next goal, as seconds later, Ruggeri would this time find Mariah McQueen to give their team a 2-1 lead at the 24:28 minute mark.

Four minutes and 24 seconds later, instead of finding a teammate for a score, Ruggeri would knock one in herself to extend the Lightning advantage to 3-1.

Nine minutes and six seconds later, Goldey Beacom would respond with Alyssa Ruggeri finding Mariah McQueen, who scored her second goal of the game to expand their team’s advantage to 4-2.

The Lightning did a good job of taking away any good looks for the Lions for the rest of the game as they only fired off two shots, and both were high and off the mark.
