McMenemy earns first win as Blue Hens head coach in 2-0 shutout

The two teams were ready for a battle as the defense was strong in the early minutes of this one, with the scoring in this game taking some time, and the scoreboard would stay silent for around 30 mins.

At the 31:24 minute mark, the goal drought would end as Delaware’s Seidu Shamsudeen found the net to give his team a 1-0 lead. Carlos Fernandez would assist on Shamsudeen’s goal.

Nine minutes later, the Blue Hens were not done adding to their lead as Sam Donnellan would score a goal to extend the team’s advantage to 2-0. Florian Phlepsen would assist on Donnellan’s goal.

The defense of Delaware would carry the team in the second period as the team would take home a 2-0 victory when the 90-minute mark came around.
