The Dallas Wings selected the University of Delaware’s Jasmine Dickey, with the 30th overall pick in the 2022 WNBA draft on Monday.

Dickey is the third Blue Hens player to be drafted by a WNBA team, as Elena Delle Donne was selected by the Chicago Sky as the number two pick in the 2013 WNBA Draft, and Tyresa Smith was chosen by the Phoenix Mercury as the 18th overall pick in the 2007 WNBA Draft.

Talk about a year for the Blue Hens guard/forward as she helped lead Delaware to a 24-8 record, win the Colonial Athletic Association title, and an NCAA tournament appearance, which was the first for the program since 2013.

In her senior season, she averaged 25.3 points per game ( third-best in Division I), 10.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.9 steals.

Dickey also had two 40-plus point performances this season, as she scored 48 in a win against Eastern Michigan in November and a career-high 52 points in a win against the College of Charleston.

Some accolades Dickey received this year for her impressive season were CAA Player of the Year (back-to-back), CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player, and one of five finalists for Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the year, one of ten semifinalists for the 2022 Cheryl Miller Award as nation’s best small forward, and AP All-America Honorable Mention.

The Baltimore native ended her career at the University of Delaware, totaling 1,981 points, 1,038 rebounds, 213 steals, 192 assists, 82 steals, and 48 double-doubles.

Dickey joins Northwestern’s Veronica Burton and University of North Florida’s Jazz Bond, who also was drafted by the Wings on Monday.
