7-2: Looking at Wilmington University baseball team’s solid start to the 2022 season

Hitting Leaders

Runs:

Redshirt senior outfielder Quintin Ivy and sophomore catcher Jack McDonald lead the team with nine runs scored.

Hits:

Senior outfielder John Mead leads Wilmington in hits with 13. Mead also leads the team in doubles with six (third-best in the CACC). He is also tied with Ivy, with the most triples on the team with one.

Home Runs:

Wilmington’s home run king through nine games is Quintin Ivy, who has knocked four out of the park. Ivy’s four home runs rank him fourth in the CACC with hitting home runs.

RBIs:

When there are runners on base, John Mead answers the call as he leads the team with nine RBIs.

Walks:

Jack McDonald leads the team with eight walks.

Junior pitcher AJ Stento has done a solid job of closing out games this year, as he leads the team with three saves. Stento ranks first in the CACC with three saves.

Ryan Sandberg has been WilmU’s workhorse this season with a team-leading 16 innings pitched.

Junior pitcher Rich Albrecht leads the team in giving up the fewest hits with four.
