Blue Hens lead by 11 at the end of the first half
The game would start with Delaware taking an 8-4 advantage with 15:43 left in the first half. During that time, the Blue Hens defense would be solid as the team had two blocks and two steals.
Five minutes and 14 seconds later, the University of Delaware would continue to add to their lead as the team outscored Drexel 12-8 to take a 20-12 lead with 6:52 remaining in the first half. Graduate Student forward Dylan Painter and fifth-year guard Kevin Anderson would score eight of the 12 points on the run.
The Blue Hens continued to widen their lead as they outscored the Dragons 7-4 for the rest of the first half to end with a 27-16 advantage. Fifth-year guard Ryan Allen would score five of the seven points during that stretch.
Hens win 66-56!
Delaware would start the second half by outscoring Drexel 11-7 to push their lead to 15 points (38-23) with 16:10 left in the game. Jyare Davis and Andrew Carr would score all 11 points on the run.
Fifty-one seconds later, The Dragons would start to claw back into this game as the team scored ten unanswered points to trim the lead to five points (38-33) with 13:29 remaining in the second half.
Five minutes and 18 seconds later, the Blue Hens lead would get cut to three points (47-44), with Drexel’s Camren Wynter hitting a jump shot.
A minute later, the University of Delaware would punch right back with a 13-4 run, which gave them a 60-48 lead with 2:18 left in the game. Davis would score eight of the 13 points on the run.
In the final two minutes of the game, Drexel would outscore the Hens 8-6, but it would not matter as the Blue Hens hung on to win 66-56 to advance to the CAA Semifinals.
