The Goldey-Beacom College women’s basketball team closed out the season on Saturday with a 90-68 win over the Wilmington University Wildcats.
Junior forward Alanna Speaks and junior forward Jhordan Gardner were the leading scorers for Goldey-Beacom as they each scored 13 points.
Two other Goldey-Beacom players who scored in double digits were junior forward Alexis Harrison (11), and junior guard Lexi Weikert (10).
The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (42-30), points off of turnovers (33-11), fast-break points (7-6), bench points (46-13), assists (17-15), turnovers (16-29), blocks (4-2), and steals (14-6).
Goldey-Beacom also had the advantage of shooting as well, with the team shooting 47.4 %( 36-76) and Wilmington shooting 38.3 % (23-60). The Lightning also held the advantage at the free-throw line, with the team having a 70.0 % (14-20) shooting percentage and the Wildcats had a 60.6 %(23-33) shooting percentage.
