Blue Hens lead by seven points after one half of play
The game started with the University of Delaware taking a 6-3 lead with 17:49 left in the first half. Andrew Carr led the way for the Hens during this time as he scored four of the six points.
In the next ten minutes of this game, the two teams would ramp up the intensity as the lead changed six times and the score was three times. The last lead change during that time came from Dylan Painter, who made a layup to give the Hens a 24-22 lead with 6:03 left in the first half.
Seconds later, the Blue Hens would start on a 6-2 run, which would push their lead to 30-24 with 3:57 left in the first half. Andrew Carr was the leader of this run as he scored three of the six points. Carr also had a block and a rebound on the run.
As the clock ticked down in the first half, the Hens would add three more points to give them a 33-26 lead.
UD wins 68-58!
The second half started with Delaware outscoring Lafayette College 11-8 to extend their lead to 44-34 with 12:41 left in the game. The duo of Andrew Carr and Dylan Painter scored nine of the 11 points during that time.
Starting at the 11:51 minute mark, the Leopards would go on a 9-3 run, which would cut the lead to four points (47-43) with 8:32 left in the game.
In the next couple of minutes, the Blue Hens would answer back by scoring seven unanswered points to expand their lead to 54-43 with 5:55 left in the game.
Seconds later, Lafayette would score eight straight points to cut the lead to three points (54-51) with 4:18 left in the game.
At the 3:57 minute mark, The University of Delaware would start on a 14-7 run, which would seal a 68-58 win over the Leopards. The trio of Painter, Carr, and Jameer Nelson Jr. would score 12 of the 14 points on the run. Nelson Jr. and Carr each drained a three-point shot on the run.
