Goldey-Beacom down by 11 points at the end of the first half
The game started with Georgian Court jumping out to an 11-0 lead with 16:26 left in the first half.
In the next nine minutes and twenty-six seconds, the Lions would outscore the Lightning 21-14 to take their largest lead in the first half, which was an 18 point lead (32-14).
Starting at the 7:20 minute mark, Goldey-Beacom started to show some fight as the team outscored Georgian Court 24-17 to end the first half down by 11 ( 49-38). The Lightning drained four shots from the three-point line during this time, which came from senior guard Tyler Jones, sophomore forward Mattia Morini, Nazim Derry, and Mekhi Collins. Rebounding was also a factor as the team collected six rebounds.
The Lightning win 88-75
The first half was all Georgian Court, but the second half belonged to Goldey Beacom, who roared out on a 26-6 run to take a 64-55 lead with 11:28 minutes left in the game. The duo of Nazim Derry and Malcolm Weathers would score 18 of the 26 points on the run. Derry made three shots from the three-point line on the run, and Weathers made two.
Starting at the 9:53 minute mark, the Lighting would outscore the Lions 20-12, which pushed their lead to 17 points (84-67) with 1:48 left in the game. Goldey-Beacom would continue their hot-streak from the three-point line as the team made five shots from there during that time. Derry (3), Weathers (1), Tyler Jones (1) all made shots from downtown during that time.
The Lighting would add four more points to their total to seal a 88-75 win over Georgian Court.
