The Goldey-Beacom College softball team snapped a two-game losing streak on Wednesday as the team defeated the Nyack College Warriors 5-3. Goldey-Beacom’s second game against the Warriors was postponed.
The RBIs in the game came from senior first baseman Kasey Goshorn (2), sophomore shortstop Braydee Whitman (1), and freshman catcher Brooke Conaty (1).
Four Lightning players had runs in the win, which were junior centerfielder Zoe Lockwood (1), freshman left fielder Hannah Davis (2), senior right fielder Kylie Quirk (1), and Conaty (1).
The Goldey hitters gained seven hits in the win, which were Lockwood (1), Davis (1), Goshorn (1), senior designated player Jess Lusk (1), junior third baseman Jaeda Henriquez (1), junior pitcher Chrissy Jordan (1), and Conaty (1).
Lockwood (1), Davis (2), and Conaty (1) each stole a base in the win.
On the pitching side, the starting pitcher Chrissy Jordan pitched a complete game as she went seven innings, gave up three hits, three runs, three earned runs, nine walks, three strikeouts, and earned the win.
